Q-Base 2007 – from Daylight to Darkness and back to Daylight
The travel to Q-Base 2007 was not that easy but it was doable. I booked a ticket at eventtravel.nl for the bus transfer from Venlo to the party areal one day before. So i had a 2,5 hour train travel to Venlo, but than my name was not on the list so i head to pay the full price of 25 EUR instead of 19.
The bus trip from Venlo to Weeze took about one our and the bus driver put some old Dutch language music on which was not that suitable for a trip to a Hardcore and Hardstyle party and there were mainly guys and only too girls in the bus, and everybody was mostly quite so the journey was a bit boring.
Arrived in Weeze at about 18:00 we saw that big areal of the old British Royal Airforce Base which made an nice impression. At the entrance i had a bit problem to get my camera in but after walking over the whole terrain with a security guy i fixed it.
The area was great there were 6 Bunkers, which were previously used as a hangar for the British fight planes, with different kinds of music. Hardcore, Trance, Hardstyle, Industrial Hardcore, Psychedelic a small Ammo Bunker with Schranz and than a big Runway field with the open Air stage and the Q-Base hangar. Every stage had a very powerful sound system.
The event was in Germany, but Q-Dance borough all their staff, drink and food supply from the Netherlands you had to pay with special coins (Munten) 4,5 Munten – 10 Eurs, of cause the beer of the evening was the Dutch – Heineken. For the Hungry people there were Fruits, Fries, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Pasta.
The party what not that crowded yet but in the Bunker 02 Hardcore there were already a lots of People. Darkraver was spinning some old shit when i met 2 friends of mine and saw DJ Paul arriving with his record Bag. Later at the evening i meed more people, from Holland, old friends from Hamburg and even ravers from Norway in yellow worker jackets with self written Q-Base on.
The whole party had a nice vibe at all time, i just saw one small little fight later in the morning but there was nothing like Hooligan fights which was reported in the Dutch media.
Sometime at night i checked out the Hardstyle Bunker - 04with my friends from Hamburg wich was very crowded and lout. In front of the Bunker was an extra sound system and a roof looking like a Mushroom. I changed areas a lot cause everyone was that nice but it took even some time to walk from each Bunker to another was about 100m so at the whole evening i must been walked some kilo meters. At the Hardcore Bunker i met some Dutch girls with 2 Cookiemonsters on their back i already had seen them before at the BKJN party in Rotterdam. One Bunker hat a very impressive green laser system and was full with disco balls so there were thousands of laser stripes everywhere in the hall. At the time when the sunlight was coming up again i was just dancing at the open air field, it s always a nice feeling if you see the light coming back on partys.
At about 7:00 first areas were clothing so i spend the last time on the Open Air field and enjoyed the party in the morning light until they stopped music at about 7:50.
The bus tour back was worse than in the beginning but more funny, we had to wait over one hour for a normal German bus with a German bus driver who could n´t speak Dutch or English and did n´t know the way.
Fact. Q-Base 2007 was a very nice and big event, a real Hard Music festival with 16 hours of fun,
i think you got a lot more for the money than just going to one of this sold out Afternoon festivals which end early at 23:00. It´s not as long as Nature one but you don´t have the trouble that you need a tent and a shower during this time.
